Can I start off with a YEH HAW? I think that's appropriate for a little man from Texas don't you? All I can say is come on Jan-09... bring it on! For me it was Obama all the way... I know what some of you may think.... I did vote Bush in the first election so I have changed my tune... that is what this Country is all about.. Freedom to pick and choose who you think can't fuck it up more then the other. Now it's not that I don't agree with some of what the McCain plan has, however he's a little old and I do worry about the skirt. It's not that I don't think a Woman couldn't be President, just not her. The election is cool, there are a lot of Prop's that are important, but you know the best thing about today? No more Candidate mailers and phone calls.I mean, seriously I've never talked to them before why should I start now? I am looking forward to not having to delete 22 messages on my phone from Duncan Hunter....
So I end today with this thought.
The Freedoms and rights we have are not deserved, they were earned by fellow Americans who chose to serve this Country with honor, remember how lucky we are to make our own choice, it is a gift not a grant.

Older & Wiser?
Writing this makes me smile. In my personal experience or shall we say experiment maybe 6 out of 10 times the answer to this question is no. Not because the people I hang with are stupid but because technology is moving at a rate that most of them just can’t keep up. I was realizing this when my 3yr old was looking at my I-phone and scanning through my pictures. Touch screen and all and I showed her one time. In about an hour’s time after that I was then asked by my mother who I LOVE how to delete a contact from her phone….. Which I had shown her about 5 times before, but I’m in for 6, 7 & 8 and maybe she will call me to ask again 9&10 unless she deletes me… LOL! I have no idea where technology is going in the next 5-10 years. I can only imagine that the India call centers will be busy, and John will be helping the older to the next level of wiser while making a $5.00 an hour for the $400.00 product we just purchased from China. Please hold, someone will be with you in a moment

Friendship Inventory
I don’t know what it is about your later 30’s, I feel like it’s more OK to be picky about who I want as friends. I think in your early years you try so hard to be friends w/ everybody that sometimes you are willing to accept all of the character flaws in others that you won’t even accept in yourself. That is changing for me. I have come to the realization that you have to want more from your friendships and if you don’t they won’t grow. The surface like “acquaintance,” friendships have to be treated in that manner. That has been hard for me to do. I try to be just as good of a friend to those people as well as whom I consider my ‘Core Friends.” That is ending, by doing this inventory I am going to start unloading passengers so that more room is available for the long drive I’d like to take. I’m taking control of my path with the assistance of faith, and letting myself drive and IT be the passenger. The Journey will be one of fulfillment; truth and acceptance, the best way I can think of to travel in this life

Cheesecake Factory
I had one of the best salads I have had in a long time, so good it's worth posting. Now I have not been to this place in I would say 2 years? I know... sad:( Today I met a friend for lunch and although she knows how much I love her today I blog on salad. It was perfect, with lettuce, beets, nuts, goat cheese, grilled asparagus and red wine vinaigrette. Yummy. I plan on having this salad again, however I am going to purchase the items and make it for less then $8.50, and you know what I can't wait! So here's to the perfect salad and lunch with a friend. If you have not done that in awhile, pick up the phone make a plan and head on out for a great afternoon. We can still afford $8.50... LOL!

The Great Gasp
I believe the Market has to be the biggest Casino I have ever played in. I am wondering how in almost 15 years in the market how in a couple months I have lost almost half of my portfolio. I keep wondering where are the sparkly lights are and where is the heck is that damn cocktail waitress with my drink. It's gonna have to be a stiff one in order to ease the pain of being bent over. I cannot even imagine having to deal with this if I was close to retirement. I think that is my only saving grace right now, Oh yes, a positive to working another 30 years. I can only hope that by me not panicking and riding this out in the end it will all be OK. After all that's what the Candidates are telling us and don't you know they always tell the truth. In November I am thinking about raffling my vote, it might help me gain back some of the cash flow I have lost in the Market, and who really believes that one vote matters.

Scare Tactics
I am so in awe of the tactics played in today’s society. I mean we see it every day, in the media with disease, crime, fraud; all the bad things that people do to each other all in the name of awareness. Blah… blah…. blah. If we could be honest with whom we are as people and transcend that into everyday life imagine the possibilities. If we lived out of fear, worked out of fear and loved out of fear the sky would be the limit. Although the Human aspect of who we are gets in the way of everything I just want to be able to open your mind to the freedom we say we have and the ability to express it without fear. I am finding in my own journey it’s not that easy, the “scary” people are out there, just waiting to hunt you down, trip you up so that they can claim victory. The funny thing is Victory isn’t near as much fun as the travels along the way. I re-pack, I go fourth, clear and present with a set tone and a defined purpose.

Garage Sale Showdown
Well, to those who have these; hats off to you. I am so tired of being talked down from a dollar to fucking .25 cents I could almost kill someone. My faith in humanity diminished in a 4 hour period over a picture frame, some perfume and the stink eye’s I received when I would not budge on price. Why is it that people think garage sales are cheap? I don’t remember posting a prize or a special offer to the 1st 50 people who showed up, yet the expectations of the patrons sure are of those on another planet. I so wanted to say to someone… ‘Have you seen the market? This is a deal so save you 3.09 a gallon of gas and stay home if you can’t break out 1 flippin dollar.” Driving up in a new SUV or a Mercedes @ that… Sheesh…. Thank goodness for Goodwill and Amvets, you better believe I will be donating before I have to deal with another whiney patron @ the crack ass of dawn carrying quarters. Take your ass to the thrift store for my stuff, I am outta this game.

The American Hoax
Well it’s a week after the Bailout has passed, the market still in the crapper and the first check written to AIG has been so usefully spent on Manis and Pedis at a resort in CA. God I love this country. So what does the American taxpayer get? Well depending where you might be, possibly in the unemployment line, getting gas at $3.50 a gallon or waiting on hold with India about the PC your purchased it’s still the same place in retrospect. Leaning over and taking it up the ass. I do fear that if things do not start to turn around soon people are going to start to go crazy. We have already seen someone kill his entire family and himself for financial problems. What more evidence of main street horror do we need before the people who are in control do a better job? It concerns me that the same people who started this mess are the same ones we look to get us out. Isn’t that a clear definition of insanity? All I know is I am not spending, and I am very watchful of things going on in the world. It is time for America to look in the mirror and see if the reflection you get back is truthful.

Keeping up with who?
What is it with reality TV and my LOVE of it? I think our nature is to really celebrate the crazy factor in others. I mean I wonder why in the heck people would put themselves out there to be made fun of, them I remember where I am, Good ole America and the cash cow of participants that are willing to sell their souls. God love em. I know my TIVO is full of self made millionaires, while I work a desk job. If I could just get past my own inability of wanting to look like an idiot on TV, I’d be auditioning too. The fact that I can’t only means a steady pay, benefits and my self respect…. Hmmmmm?

Problem Child
Oh, you’ve heard of me? Believe me; I can tell you from personal experience holding your ground and knowing what you want is hard. Most people around you are not on the same page or even reading the same book. The movement towards your own personal truth can be a struggle. If you go against the grain you might as well be at a Tuesday meeting introducing yourself as the label above. If you can continue to be who you are within the confines of home, work and the world then life can be really fun. It’s not a glamorous label, but I find that challenging the norm is really teaching those around you. Lessons after all perpetuate growth. If that’s not what life is all about then I am screwed.
