Hopscotch or Dodgeball

I kind of identify with hopscotch myself. I like the idea of trying to get somewhere one step at a time, and working at it little by little. You dodgeballers are a whole other kind of people. I mean, standing on the opposite side of each other trying to hurt someone. I mean, how brutal does it get? Is your opponent even aware that what allows you to conquer this game is your mental instability? Take notes while your there, these opponents will be the same people who will be on ADHD dugs in the near future. You can thank the pharmaceutical companies for finding a cure for rambunctious players. It will be all good once you get out of Junior high, and don’t you worry, when all is said and done the world will no longer have to deal with those dodgeballers, there all resting nicely in a place named medicated.

No is a complete sentence

You have no idea; I mean none about how many times I have been told this. Now I know it may also sound strange, but go back… way back when you were a kid. No must have been the most used word we’ve all heard. Why is it then as we become adults, it’s the one word that is the hardest to say. We say ‘Yes’ to everything. “Yes; I can cook dinner.’ Yes I will pick up the kids,’ ‘Yes, I can get that report done before I leave... on and on and on. When did we stop thinking that the power of no, took away our power. I believe it is the most powerful word you can use. It’s like taking control over your own life without having to explain anything to anyone. It’s the English version of talk to the hand for me and I LOVE this word. I am trying to perfect the art of saying NO, along with letting the guilt go for saying and meaning it, and you know what. I feel good… say it with me… No! It is a complete sentence

The Corporate Circus

Hello and welcome to the largest tent in America, the Corporate Circus. Yes ladies and Gentleman, the acts are amazing and will surprise even you. As I entered adult hood and the ‘working world’ I was in awe of the possibilities that await me. Little did I know that my training had come long before I even knew how to spell my name. The acts are all the same, you have the Lions and the Tamers or as I see the VP’s and the Board of Directors. You have the Elephant, always in the room but no one ever says anything and yes best of all the clowns. I can hear the background music now and even get a whiff of the popcorn popping. Welcome to your future, learn how to walk the tight rope and don’t count on a harness, they are as unpredictable as the market and the net is unemployment. Don’t push too hard through the crowd as everyone is trying to meet with the Ring Master. Play your cards right and you might be able to see the whole show from the box, if not you sit where I do, in the cheap ticket section staring up the monkey’s ass.

A little Kathy Griffen, A little Oprah

I ponder the idea can you be a little of both. For me these women represent the good and evil of my personality sometimes. I find myself to want to do the right thing, be on the good path, want kindness and happiness for all, and sometimes I want to tell people to “suck it.” This is the question I ask of all of you .Are there people in your life that somewhat help define you own personality? I think the world is full of them. All you have to do is turn on the TV or open a magazine, and you will be overwhelmed with other ideals, opinions and what is what and when it‘s in or when it’s out. I find myself attracting people in my life that I think could use a little influence of me, however what I always find is that they make me examine myself a little more. It maybe a TV person, an article I read about someone, or just someone I meet. I think the key is to allow you to be open to others and accept the entire package. I mean who is perfect; I believe that is only manufactured by Mattel.

Pass or Fail

So what’s your score today? I often wonder in daily life if we answered this question would we continue on the same path. As in school it was just that one goal you focused on, I don’t think for one minute you ever counted on the journey to be the knowledge base. We strive, we over achieve and we do it at such a cost of integrity sometimes that the focus becomes blurred. I try to remain true to who I am while still working on becoming a better person. In times of struggle I often place myself at my own funeral. Now I know there are not a lot of people that dare to go there, but let’s have a little reality check, it’s the inevitable.

As for mine, it’s a party, now of course I want crying, not from sadness but from the over whelming laughter of how crazy, fun and outspoken I was. For daring to stand on the edge and not allowing fear to ever win, for loving myself enough to work on all my faults and laughing at all my strengths. Showing people that vulnerability is your greatest asset and who you are at a moment does not define you in the now.

Pass or fail really isn’t yours to answer, merely the only working guideline you’ll ever need for life. Will you make the grade, look around and score your Business, your Relationships, your Children and your Happiness… maybe you’ll see that were all a little average, the best place to be for continued growth.
