Do you mean what you say?

I've recently discovered that doing what you say your going to do surprises people. Does anyone else think that is CRAZY? I mean, it's the core of who you are as a person. If you don't follow through then what amount of meaning does anything you say hold? I was always brought up to be honest, forthcoming and to always do what I say I'm going to. In a way, it's shaped me to be a good person, but easily disappointed by a lot of people. I was also raised not to judge, so I continue doing me, and try not to take it to personal. I've learned at the age of 37 to not worry about what anyone else, says or does, just be true to who you are and all else will work out. I can tell you it's an easy way to define your circle people in this life, and so far it's worked out just fine:)

Conniving Convenience

Is it me or am I just one of the few that see right through Big Corporates Convenience's? For example, Gym's, classes, cafeteria, dry cleaning service, catered lunches/dinners. I think what we as your average American Worker sees is that The Corporate world really understands how busy our lives get and how they want to relieve some of those burdens by making things easier while we are at work. What I see is how the Corporate world wants us more at work. I mean, if we really just worked a 40 hr work week why couldn't you get all those things done? Fortune 500 Companies aren't successful because people go home after a 40 hour work week, they are successful on the back bone of your Average American Worker being so catered to they stay. For me it has to be different, I think America has it wrong and we are seeing is clear as day in these times. What do we work so hard for? Retirement or time? I think time, and no amount of money or conveniences can change my mind. So what do you do, let me tell you it's not easy. You come to work with the knowledge that you are just another employee, numbered and processed as payroll every other week, and you do not kid yourself of anything different. Separate the truth from the lies and your life will be clearer, and the guilt for living your life will no longer be based on Corporate Conniving.

The Stank Factor

Something smells... and it ain't pretty. I think its all the Bull Shit that is spewed constantly up in here. I thought the look on Big Business Leaders faces were just that of being snobs, but I am quickly realizing it is just the plain funk and disgust finally surfacing from the lies we've been told over the last couple decades.... and Hello Wall Street so nice of you to be the reflection of truth.

Now don't get me wrong... I LOVE America, I am just not a big fan of whose been leading it. I think the mattress that Government, Lobbyist & Big Business have been in has finally broken down, and someone forgot to flip it. Well, here we are the Tsunami of shit has hit us like a WWF Smack down, and I for one, don't like wearing tights. I'd like to see some leaders under the age of 40, you know why? Because they can hack into the truth and lay it all out to dry, cause once were done shoveling ourselves from the Stank Factor were going to all need to sit down together and see how this really happened.

Break out your rubber boots, and hang up those silk suits for it's "Manual" labor time and he's a white guy.

Are you connected?

It's funny how connected we have become through the Web, Chat, IM etc, but how connected are you to your friends and family? For our family we work hard to maintain this. We sit down for dinner almost every night, have quiet time together and still go to friends houses to play board/family games. I think what most people have lost by staying so connected with the world is a loss of their family connection. I don't see how the world is going to get better until we start turning off our phones, logging off the computer and re-connecting with people face to face. It seems that we are showing our children that relationships only exist electronically, and the emotions that are tied with talking and being with someone are not important. That we can validate each other with the click of a mouse, or a response to an e-mail. I'm sorry for me, its not enough. I do maintain both, however the people who mean the most to me know it, because we take time for each other, we laugh, cry and talk in person, and our children will do the same. I think the world needs to check out in order to check in.

Can you?

Weapons of Mass Destruction

I think I know where these are, I believe they have been hiding out all together on one street, Wall Street. What people have done to each other in the name of greed I believe is bigger then any planes that targeted us on 911. I know that maybe hard to come to terms with but in the depth of my soul the Evilness that is brewing from calculated, manipulative, desire for wealth reaches into the soul of man and we are just seeing a glimpse of the destruction. In the middle of all of this downfall our troops have been sent to fight a war in a Country that we think desire what we have here. What do we have now? Freedom to steal, brag, use each other as a step to reach a desired height? Shame on us America, our over abundance has covered up all we stand for in labels purchased on credit. I can only hope that Karma is the secret weapon, for it's our last hope to save us from ourselves from becoming our own worst enemy.

Reflections of

I am amazed every time I look into my daughters eyes how lucky I am. I know that most parents feel the same way when looking at their children. How can you love someone so much and still be able to love more? I know how truly gifted I am in almost all aspects of my life, but she tops the cake. I never in my early years dreamed that I would live, or have the opportunity if I did to have a child. I grew up in my mind always thinking that today on the playground could be my last. I know that has changed me, it had to, but in that discouragement I showed my greatest asset, my strength and will to live like it is my last day. That has carried on and will forever in the depths of my being, and it allows me to be where I am at every moment, and see her life as a gift from mine. It's humbling that I have been chosen to have her, and with the love of my life beside me I am the true reflection of the love I had for life to the love that I carry in this life, and for me love never ends even when the body leaves this earth. That is my reflection of.

Sick Time

Well, I am in a deficit on this one. I am constantly getting sick from people at work... "Shut your mouth," you say... please, the hand sanitizer, pamphlet, and the internal mail we get on STAYING HOME has not reached the MOST IMPORTANT people... You know, the ones that place your health in danger because they are SO NEEDED. Yeah, they are all around, driving drunk on NyQuil so that they can come in and run a report. Never mind the rest of us, who work in a CLOSED environment that BREATHE all the same air. I can't wait to tap into your sick time so that I can stay home and catch up on some TV. Clearly you mean more then I do, so stand up tall sickness, proudly take a bow, while your shit rolls downhill. To me, heart disease and all, I can take it. Me and my can of Lysol know each other well:)

Practice... Amazement and Wonder

If I was the only one who thought I was funny, would I be? Is the label that we use to define ourselves only there when other people are involved? I know, it's kinda late to wrap your mind around this, but hang on with me. I've been thinking a lot about how you see yourself versus what you think people see of you. This thought came via someone pointing out to me that my expression in a certain situation was not what I thought it was. Its weird to have someone ask you a question based on nothing but body language. Apparently mine spoke volumes this day. I think I need to take some acting classes, so that I can master the look of amazement and wonder in a staff meeting. The unknowing placement of an eye can be the end of my career... LOL. Career... sorry, that was just funny. So I ask of myself what can I take from this life lesson? Acting must be a pretty kick ass job, cause the Corporate World is full of talent.

Bueller.... Bueller

You know when your in a meeting and the agenda is read and at one point it's gonna get real quiet? Well it happened today. It's so interesting that in a group setting of your closest backstabbers no one wants to speak up and discuss the issues happening around us. It makes me smile, I think I have a problem. Since when did the fact that you can trust NO ONE at work change? I mean lets be real. We all know whats going on in the Market, why in the hell would you then choose to take someones foot out of your ass and stick it in your mouth? Not me people, this is my forum... low and quiet...strategic and abrasive. It's the UN-confrontational confrontational. So as the questions arises... does anyone have anything they want to say... I wait to here... Anyone?... Bueller?....Bueller?

From Tragedy to Greatness

I am not sure what it was about the way Jennifer Hudson sang the National Anthem, but it seemed to represent so much more of where our Nation is at then ever before. I looked at her as a person yesterday that walked through tragedy and sang in greatness. There is something about a come back that hits the Human spirit. I believe in all of us we always want the under dog to come out fighting. We look to validate in ourselves that hardships come and go and everyone is equal in pain and in joy. Sorrow sees no color, joy does not live with the wealthy but in our emotion we are all connected. Experiences only separate the journey, but its the same path we all walk. Perhaps it's only time that separates the human spirit from one struggle to another, its hard to say in the realm in which we live. I can only hope for my little one that the World isn't so big and we can see what we can change when connected in peace.
